Poetry Recordings for A Level English
Exciting new update!! Just thought I'd write a quick blog to you about the new poetry recordings I am coordinating at the moment!
ZigZag's new recordings really bring the texts to life, and as they are read by a number of professional artists (including speech artists and actors!), the variation ensures full engagement of students in the classroom!
Our newest recordings include such authors as: Alfred Lord Tennyson, Christina Rossetti, John Keats, Robert Browning, Thomas Hardy, and Wilfred Owen.
Also, we have recordings based upon popular themes such as Pastoral, and upcoming recordings focus on World War I poetry. These accompany our popular existing recordings for the Lyrical Ballads <-- listen to a free sample here!!
ZigZag Education provide recordings in dual format on CD: (1) in audio format to be played aloud in the classroom (2) in MP3 format to copy onto your network/VLE or for keen students to put on their iPods! Paradise Lost for A Level English
Hi folks, thought we'd get started with one of my old favourites, Paradise Lost!
ZigZag's new study guide is packed full of all you need to know about Milton’s epic poem. It has analysis of all twelve books and all characters, with in-depth analyses of major characters & the language of Paradise Lost. It also has questions for use in A Level classes.
I was really pleased with Pauline Brind's comments - she's an A Level English Teacher - who said 'There are lots of publications about this era, but this resource brings together the right combination, & presents it coherently. Also, because the teaching of Paradise Lost is the focus of the work, it reduces the time required by the teacher to interpret scholarly works which are written with different intentions. I wish I’d had access to it the first time I taught Milton – it would have made life so much easier.'
